ISN’T IT TIME YOU DID SOMETHING JUST FOR YOU?

If you’ve found your way to this page, I bet you work hard taking care of others, building relationships, family, a career.  You’re a giver.

And at this point in life, you’re asking yourself some big questions. Things like: What do I really want out of life? How can I make the most of my remaining time on this planet and do the most good? And finally, isn’t there some way to make parking a little bit easier at Trader Joe’s?

Unfortunately, I can’t answer any of these questions. Except maybe the parking one. (See Benefits of Meditation)

But I can tell you if you want to continue to achieve more in your life, you have to take care of yourself. This goes way beyond getting a mani-pedi or “putting on your own oxygen mask first.” Although, uhmm, yes to both.

I’m Diana Charkalis and I teach Vedic Meditation, a practice that provides relaxation, clarity of mind and a sense of inner well-being to guide you through the rough patches in life.

In 2008, I learned this simple mental technique that involves repeating a mantra or sound twice daily for 20 minutes. Despite never being able to stick to a routine, this practice quickly became an integral part of my life, not only because it was easy, but also because the positive effects were immediate. I felt more grounded, calm and clear.

In the past 10 years, my practice has centered me as my career in digital media accelerated. When my parents became ill, it softened the edges of my cross-country commute as a long-distance caregiver. And when I left the corporate world to spend more time with family and start my own business, it fueled me as I moved forward.

My deep dive into meditation

In 2009, I began advanced Vedic studies with Jeff Kober, an LA-based instructor who has taught Vedic meditation to thousands of people. And in 2018, I completed a 2-year teaching program to become a meditation instructor, studying both in Los Angeles and India.

It’s so fulfilling to bring this powerful tool for change to new students and witness the effortless way it works.
